Police searching for man who behaved indecently in public place

BUKIT MERTAJAM – Police are tracking down a man who had behaved indecently in front of a woman as shown in a video that went viral since yesterday.

Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Tan Cheng San confirmed that investigation revealed that the incident occurred yesterday at around 9am at the vicinity of a fast-food restaurant parking area in Alma, here.

He said the man, whose nationality could not be confirmed was riding a red Yamaha LC 135 motorcycle with a fake registration number.

He then approached the victim's car and proceeded to unzip his pants, exposing himself.

"As a result of the incident, a police report was lodged by the victim at the Bukit Mertajam police station.

"The case is being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code and Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955," he said in a statement, today.

Tan welcomed the cooperation of the public in providing information about the incident to investigating officer Inspector Mohd Yusrashidi Yussof, at 017-4336334 or by contacting any nearby police station.

Earlier, a 24-second video depicting the indecent behavior of a man next to a car went viral on Twitter.
