DAP a loyal partner, not a 'big brother' – Nga
IPOH - DAP deputy chairman Nga Kor Ming lashes out against the statements that the party acted as a 'big brother' in the unity government administration created with BN.
He said the perceptions played by the Perikatan Nasional (PN) leadership were baseless and out of date.
Nga said throughout this period, DAP proved that the party played an important role as a loyal friend towards all component parties under the government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"The accusations proved that PN was obsessed with their outdated and stagnant way of thinking by releasing such baseless views.
"All this time we have been working as a team because we believe we're strong together," he told reporters on Monday.
He said this when commenting on Bersatu Deputy president Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin that DAP would retain their party struggles and act as a 'big brother' that did not care for its coalition partners.
The former education minister stated DAP showed their true colours when they acted not to drop their secular nation and Malaysian Malaysia agenda despite Umno's urges.
Nga was met after holding a working visit at the Local Government Development Ministry Sentuhan Kasih programme for the Tambun Parliament.
The Local Government Development Ministry announced an allocation of RM10.73 million for the Ipoh City Council and the Perak Housing and Property Board (LPHP) to improve the public infrastructure maintenance and elevator replacements around Tambun.
