KUALA LUMPUR - The police will record Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang's statement tomorrow (Monday) after he allegedly disputed the Pardons Board’s authority during a political talk at the party’s Bakri headquarters in Johor, last week.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said Hadi’s special officer informed that the latter was still receiving medical treatment.

“The new date given to him (Hadi) is on Sept 4, 9.30am.

“Hadi’s statement will be recorded by the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Classified Crime Investigation Unit (USJT),” he told Sinar.

On Aug 28, Bukit Aman CID director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain said an investigation was initiated against Hadi under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act.

Bachok MP and Pas secretary-general Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman confirmed that Hadi was called by Bukit Aman regarding a police report involving his speech at the Simpang Jeram state by-election campaign in Muar.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy information chief Razeef Rakimin has questioned Hadi’s action lying to the authorities to avoid being investigated.

This was following Hadi and four Menteri Besar from Pas and its secretary-general's visit to former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s residence yesterday.
