Integrity important in developing tourism sector

SHAH ALAM - Integrity is important in the development and advancement of the tourism sector as dishonest acts will have a negative impact on the sector.
Tourism Selangor corporate strategy manager Halim Hamdan said as an agency promoting state tourism, it was important for industry players to ensure that tourism products and locations that were being marketed were safe and have the license.
He said the approach taken by anti-graft movement Rasuah Busters in producing individuals with integrity needed to be extended to the grassroots.
"When the symptom of corruption becomes a habit in an organisation, it is difficult for us to neutralise the person who has been contaminated by that negative act.
"However, it is our responsibility to fight the problem so that the agency is led by a responsible and honest leader," he said during the launch of the Rasuah Busters #SaySomethingNice campaign on Tuesday.
The campaign will run from Aug 31 to Sept 16.
Halim said he will also work together with the Rasuah Busters in further expanding the #SaySomethingNice campaign to the community.
