Indah Water Konsortium bags two awards at Asean Energy Awards 2023

SHAH ALAM - Indah Water Konsortium (IWK) Sdn Bhd secured both the first and second runner-up positions for the coveted Energy Efficiency and Conservation Best Practices Award in Energy Management in the small and medium Industries category.

They received the award at the prestigious Asean Energy Awards (AEA) 2023, held on 25 August 2023, in Bali, Indonesia.

The AEA awards were presented during the 41st Asean Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM).

The awards celebrated IWK's achievements in two of its exemplary projects, namely the Klang-Selatan Regional Sewage Treatment Plant and the Butterworth-South Regional Sewage Treatment Plant (RSTP).

This recognition demonstrates IWK's relentless pursuit of excellence in sustainable energy management exemplified by the combination of energy management, energy efficiency, and renewable energy.

IWK’s endeavours in advancing sustainable energy practices was earlier recognised in the National Energy Award (NEA) 2023, organised annually by the Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment, and Climate Change (NRECC).

Building on this accomplishment, both projects were subsequently selected by the NEA panel of judges to represent Malaysia at AEA 2023.

Chief Executive Officer of IWK Narendran Maniam expressed his utmost gratitude as the efforts got acknowledged on such great platforms such as AEA 2023 and NEA 2023.

With a network spanning over 7,000 sewage treatment plants (STPs) across Malaysia, IWK's commitment to excellence and sustainability remains steadfast.
