PUTRAJAYA - Police are investigating the statement uploaded on Twitter that insulted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently in the Kepci Music Fest.

Putrajaya District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner A Asmadi Abdul Aziz said a police report was lodged by the Prime Minister’s Department’s special officer on Thursday.

“Further investigations are being carried out by police.

“The case is being investigated under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, Section 504 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998,” he told Sinar on Friday.

It was reported that a post on Twitter was uploaded on Monday with insulting words as well as a video.

Anwar attended the Kepci Music Fest that was held in Malawati Stadium Shah Alam for the gold jubilee celebration for the fast-food restaurant KFC in Malaysia.

The arrival of the Prime Minister at 9.05pm was accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

The festival was held for KFC’s 50th anniversary and displayed musical performances by a line up of new and local artists.
