PUTRAJAYA - Lawyer Datuk Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh has been appointed as the new Attorney-General with effect from Sept 6, said Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali.

He replaces Tan Sri Idrus Harun, whose contract ends on Sept 5.

Idrus, the former Federal Court judge, was appointed Attorney-General on March 6, 2020.

In a statement today, Mohd Zuki said Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah had consented to Terrirudin’s appointment in accordance with Clause (1) of Article 145 of the Federal Constitution.
