BERA - Three men were arrested on Tuesday for their suspected involvement in a series of group robberies across Triang and Kerayong since August 19.

The Bera District Police Chief, Superintendent Zulkiflee Nazir, stated that the suspects, aged between 30 and 38, were apprehended during a raid carried out by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the Bera District Police Headquarters (IPD) around 3pm.

Urine tests conducted on the suspects yielded positive results for amphetamine drugs.

"All three suspects have previous criminal records, including several drug-related offences," Zulkiflee added.

The suspects have been remanded for five days under investigation, in accordance with Sections 394, 395, and 397, as well as Section 379A of the Penal Code, as mentioned in a statement on Wednesday.

In connection with the robbery incident at a jewellery store in Triang reported on August 24, a 47-year-old local woman was also apprehended by the police to assist in the ongoing investigation.

Zulkiflee stated that the woman will be held in custody for four days under the provisions of Section 380 of the Penal Code, allowing further inquiries to take place.

"With these arrests, the police have successfully resolved the four cases of group robbery and one case of theft from a jewellery store reported in the Bera district," Zulkiflee concluded.
