Batik Air launches new service to Okinawa, as low as RM1,329

Batik Air announced a new route to Naha, Okinawa making its fifth destination in Japan as low as RM1,329 for economy class, one-way fare.

From Kuala Lumpur to Okinawa, Batik Air offers the promotional economy class all-in-one-way fare with 20 kilograms free checked-in baggage allowance.

“Flight OD882 will depart from Kuala Lumpur every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 7.20am via Taipei.

“Then arrive at Naha, Okinawa at 3.35pm, then return the flight, OD883 will depart Naha, Okinawa at 4.35pm and arrive in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) via Taipei at 11.05pm," wrote Batik Air in its statement.

In addition, Batik Air also offers a selection of pre-purchased meals and additional baggage allowance at discounted prices.

Meals and drinks are also available for sale on-board on all Batik Air flights.

Meanwhile, Batik Air/Lion Air Group, Group Strategy Director Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy said Batik Air is very committed to the Japanese market and has within a year mounted its fifth destination in Japan.

“Okinawa’s legendary tourism potential is well known globally and we are pleased to offer connectivity via our KLIA hub as well as our transit point of Taipei.

“Okinawa experiences a subtropical climate with long summers and mild winters and a year-round average temperature of 23 degrees Celsius which is excellent for outdoor activities.

“Sakura season is in January and February which is another of the many added attractions.

“This new service offers travellers from Okinawa to visit beautiful Malaysia and also enjoy seamless connectivity to exciting destinations in our Lion Air Group’s fast-expanding network in ASEAN, Indian Subcontinent, Australia & New Zealand, and Saudi Arabia, via the Kuala Lumpur International Airport hub," he said in the statement.

Additionally, Okinawa is famously known as Hawaii of Japan and is made up of more than 160 islands in the East China Sea which is a diversified island chain with a subtropical climate and a rich cultural past.
