Man arrested for beating businessman after road rage incident

SHAH ALAM - A man took violent actions after an accident, beating a driver who was reported to be a businessman in an incident at Persiaran Anggerik Mokara, Kota Kemuning here, on Monday.

According to Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqmal Ibrahim, the accident happened at Persiaran Eco Sanctuary, Telok Panglima Garang in Kuala Langat.

It involved two vehicles, a Honda Accord driven by the victim and a Perodua Axia driven by the suspect.

The 43-year-old victim fled the scene after the accident.

"The suspect was not satisfied with the victim's actions and physically assaulted him, causing injuries to his left eye, cheek, neck, chest, and ear.

"The victim was taken to Sunway Medical Centre in an ambulance and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital," he said in a statement today.

Mohd Iqmal explained that a report was filed at the Shah Alam district police headquarters at 7.33am.

He added that the police managed to apprehend the main suspect, but four of his friends managed to escape.

"A machete was found in the Perodua Axia.

"Efforts are still ongoing to locate the four other suspects who are on the run," he said.

The 27-year-old suspect has been remanded for four days until Friday for further investigations under Section 147/279 of the Penal Code.
