SHAH ALAM - Malaysians are encouraged to make #SaySomethingNice a part of their daily lives in order to foster a sense of unity among the diverse communities in the country.

Rasuah Busters chief Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub said that this effort should be initiated by everyone who wishes to see the country continue progressing.

"If we want to save the country, the people must start by being kind (speaking kind words) to those around us.

"We, at Rasuah Busters, fully support campaigns like this.

"So, we need to incorporate this campaign into the lives of all citizens so that everyone can live in peace and harmony and respect each other.

"The foundation of being kind is speaking kindly. Don't insult, don't spread false accusations, and the like.

"I also hope that this campaign is not only practiced during the month of independence but also continued on a regular basis," he said during the launch ceremony of the Rasuah Busters Campaign #SaySomethingNice at the Karangkraf Group, held here today.

He added that the people also need to reject any leaders who manipulate them for their own interests and lack integrity.

This rejection, he said, is necessary to rebuild a country tainted by the corrupt actions of irresponsible individuals.

"God willing, our country will be able to be restored, and the future will shine again if we reject those involved in corruption, manipulating the people, and the like," he said.

He emphasised that the foundation for the progress and development of a good nation lies in selecting honest leaders and prioritising the interests of the people.

The Rasuah Busters Campaign #SaySomethingNice will commence from Aug 31 to Sept 16.

The #RasuahBusters team is collaborating with the Zubedy (M) Sdn Bhd Managing Director Anas Zubedy who has been promoting this campaign for over 10 years in conjunction with the Merdeka month and Malaysia Day.

The campaign, which carries the theme 'be mindful and move forward' this year, also collaborates with the Malaysian Animation Society (Animas).
