KUALA LUMPUR - Police records the statement of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad regarding his involvement in the Malay Proclamation Round Table Sitting programme recently.

This was confirmed by federal police’ Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain.

However, he refused to comment further regarding the matter.

Dr Mahathir's lawyer Muhammad Rafique Rashid Ali said the former prime minister was accompanied by officers and personnel from the Bukit Aman Classified Crime Investigation Unit.

"Tun has his statement recorded at 3pm regarding his involvement in the Malay Proclamation Round Table Sitting.

"Tun gave his full cooperation with the police and would answer all questions in court," he said.

He said the statement was clearly based on his experience as former prime minister.

"All statements and speeches he released were based on his 22 years, 22 months experience as prime minister.
