JOHOR BAHRU - Umno Youth will mobilise a blue-red wave to fend off the opposition's green wave in the by-elections of the Pulai Parliament and the Simpang Jeram State Legislative Assembly.

The Umno Youth Chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh said the blue-red wave symbolises the combination of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) in the Unity Government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

"I believe the people of Johor are smart and mature in making decisions. Therefore, the blue-red wave that parallels the Johor flag will start in this state.

"We need to defend this government. When the country achieves independence, there can't be only Malays, indeed we need Chinese, Indian, Sabah and Sarawak unity," he said.

He said this while in a programme with the Umno Youth team at Medan Selera Taman Cempaka here on Monday.

Also present, PH candidate for the Pulai Parliamentary by-election Suhaizan Kayat, Umno Youth Deputy Chief Mohd Hairi Mad Shah and Johor Umno Youth Chief Noor Azleen Ambros.

Muhamad Akmal stressed that Umno Youth is fully committed to support candidate from PH representing the Unity government.
