Verbal war triggers man to chop off son-in-law's finger
MAKASSAR - A man from Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia had reportedly severed his son-in-law's finger following a verbal war while were drank.
Citing DetikSumut, the incident sparked after the 49-year-old accused his son-in-law for not having a job and failing to provide meals.
"The accusations were on not working and not being able to provide meals," said Makassar police public relations chief.
In response the victim responded to the perpetrator which led to a dispute.
The situation turned violent when the suspect took a machete from under his bed and amputated the victim's left middle finger. The victim sustained a cut on his ring finger.
"The victim's left middle finger was detached and the ring finger had a tear," he added.
The victim was then rushed to Makassar Bhayangkara Hospital.
The police who received the report arrested the father-in-law shortly after the incident.
"At around 9.40pm, the perpetrator was successfully arrested at Jalan Malengkeri Raya and taken to Tamalate police headquarters," he added. - Awani
