SEBERANG JAYA - The Malaysia #QuranHour 2023 is expected to spark a boost in spirit, raise efforts and strengthen faith in Allah.

Penang Mufti Datuk Seri Dr Wan Salim Wan Mohd Noor said the event can further increase the community's understanding and practice of the contents of the Quran.

He said during the programme themed 'Pemuda Merdeka, Pemimpin Abrar', there will be three chapters to be recited, understood and practised by the community especially the youths.

"The youths of today are the leaders of tomorrow. Let us take a lesson from the story of Prophet Ibrahim who in his teen had developed a highly noble character, spoken politely and remained his manners even when talking to his father who was an idol worshipper.

"Prophet Ibrahim had used his mind wisely to find the truth and search for the real God of the universe," he said at the Malaysia #QuranHour 2023 programme held at the Sembilang Mosque today.

Also present at the ceremony were Seberang Jaya assemblyman Izhar Shah Arif Shah and Rumah Ngaji Penang chairman Mohd Taufek Abdul Rahman.

The event which kicked off at 8.30am was attended by over 500 participants including those from 66 Rumah Ngaji in the state.

Salim also called on Muslims regardless of age to revive their spirit to build a community that firmly adhered to the principles and teachings of Islam.
