KUALA SELANGOR - Residents in Kampung Parit Serong, Tanjong Karang were shocked by the recent sighting of a crocodile, believed to have lost its way and gotten into a ditch.

Wildlife Protection and National Parks (Perhilitan) Selangor director Dennis Ten Choon Yung said the department went to the location at about 3pm after receiving a viral video on the discovery of the reptile.

He said the residents said that they tried to catch the crocodile in question but failed as it disappeared to the bottom of the ditch on the morning of the same day.

"However, Perhilitan's monitoring and investigation didn't catch a glimpse of the reptile," he said when contacted on Saturday.

Ten said further monitoring will be done to find the crocodile.

"The public is requested to immediately contact Perhilitan if they see the crocodile in question for further action," he said.

Before that, a video went viral on Facebook about the discovery of a baby crocodile in the ditch.
