Man arrested for molesting food deliveryman

TAPAH - A 57-year-old man’s action molesting a food delivery rider landed him in handcuffs.

Tapah district police chief Superintendent Mohd Naim Asnawi said the suspect was arrested by the police at a house in Sungkai, here, on Thursday.

Naim said in the incident, the victim, a 34-year old man, was delivering an order to the suspect’s house before being molested by the suspect.

"The suspect had touched the victim’s private part and kissed the victim on the cheek.

“The victim then lodged a police report at around 9.30pm.

"An investigation was carried out and the suspect was arrested on the same day at around 10.30pm," he said in a statement, today.

Naim said the suspect was however released on police bail after the investigation process was completed.

He said the investigation was carried out in accordance with Section 354 of the Penal Code which carries an imprisonment of up to 10 years or a fine or whipping or any of the two punishments, if convicted.
