'We'll see whether Umno or PN will be buried in Johor', says Umno Youth Chief
FARHANA ABD KADIRSHAH ALAM - Umno Youth Chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh criticised the statement of Menteri Besar Kedah Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, who claimed that Umno will be buried in Johor.
He said Sanusi himself failed to prove that Perikatan Nasional (PN) was capable of capturing six states during the state election on August 12.
"Don't be excited and arrogant, Minister Besar. It used to be arrogant to say that PN won in six states, but in the end it didn't.
"We will see if Johor becomes a grave for Umno or a grave for PN. We will see later," he said in a post on his Facebook page today.
Recently, PN's Election Director Muhammad Sanusi said the party's wave that is sweeping the country is now unable to be stopped and will advance to the southern states, including Johor.
He said, based on several signs, PN is confident in creating a surprise in the by-elections of the Pulai Parliament and the Simpang Jeram State Assembly.
The Election Commission (EC) has set the nomination date for both by-elections for Aug 26, while early voting is Sept 5 and polling day is Sept 9.
It follows the death of the incumbent Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, on July 23.
