Fight corruption, liberate from bribery
SHAH ALAM - The culture of corruption has long held its grip, seemingly becoming an embedded issue, to the point where individuals caught in such cases appear normal without showing any remorse.
Speaking about this, Selangor Chairman Corruption Busters for Selangor, Federal Territory, and Putrajaya, Professor Dr Hamdan Daniel M. Sharib said this scenario indicates that society is not yet entirely free from corruption.
In light of this, as Merdeka Day approaches, he urges the people to collectively liberate themselves, their families, and society from such immoral actions.
"This is not an individual effort; instead, it demands responsibility from all Malaysians to free Malaysia from corruption.
"Let's not delay any further. We have long felt the joy of independence, but the freedom from corruption has yet to be fully experienced.
"Let the Malaysian people rise, resist, and free themselves from corruption," he told Sinar today.
Expanding further, he acknowledged that while realising this goal might be challenging, the effort to eradicate corruption must not cease.
"In the past, we were colonised by foreign powers. Now the situation is different, as there are still groups oppressed by corruption.
"It may seem difficult, but it's not impossible.
"So, let us take the determination and spirit of independence to collectively uproot corruption from its core.
"Don't stop until our efforts are complete. Let us, as Malaysian society, eradicate corruption," he emphasised.
