SHAH ALAM - A father is forced to ask for help from the public as he could not afford to pay for the expensive burial costs of his twin foetuses.

Founder and chairman of Amal Team Mohd Zulhairi Zainol said he received a call yesterday about a man whose wife experienced a miscarriage of their twins.

The 39-year old man said the cost for the burial was RM1,200 and he could not afford it.

“I was shocked to hear that it was as expensive as RM1,200 as it was a foetus and it was not difficult to manage, requiring a low number of equipment.

“He pleaded for my help to manage the remains.

“Despite him being in Shah Alam, I continued to help in managing the bodies at the morgue nearby after receiving permission there,” he said in a Facebook post, yesterday.

Amal Team is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) established eight years ago to help the public prepare for funeral services until the end.

The services were done without any charges for families who were less fortunate in managing unclaimed bodies.

Zuhairi said he had helped the man manage the bodies from the start to the end without blaming any individual for such an expensive management cost.

“Alhamdulillah, the remains have now been safely buried.

“Despite coming far away from Bangi, we wanted to help manage it to as we felt responsible.

“May Allah replace it with something better and give children for this family,” he said.
