Insan programme: Alleged misuse of data, police received eight reports
SHAH ALAM - The Selangor Police received eight reports related to the alleged personal data leakage related to the state life insurance scheme, Insurans Hayat Selangor (Insan).
Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the report was made by the public.
"The case is classified as “Refer to Other Agency” (ROA).
"This report has been referred to the Personal Data Protection Department (JPDP) which is an agency under the Communications and Digital Ministry (KKD) for their investigation," he told Sinar on Thursday.
On Wednesday, Sinar reported that Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari denied using the personal data of Selangor citizens without permission for Insan registration.
Amirudin explained those who have pre-registered need to confirm with a selfie and ID card and related steps to confirm the registration.
