TEMERLOH - A closed circuit television (CCTV) recording of a man who died while performing Asr prayers in congregation at a mosque, here, on Saturday went viral on social media.

The footage lasting three minutes and four seconds dated Aug 19 was uploaded by a TikTok user under the name Muhammed Lotfi bin Osman on Tuesday.

In the incident at about 4.51pm, the man was seen sitting still and not moving during the final sitting (tahiyyat) of the prayer.

Several others who were performing the congregational prayer tried to help, but the man later collapsed and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The video received various reactions from netizens and was flooded with condolences over the man's passing.

However, there were also netizens who expressed disagreement towards those around the man who delayed in providing help to him.

"This is the attitude of people nowadays... not caring about what happens next to them even though they are in the same row.

"Why were the people next to the man did not check on him, he might probably be given help earlier. May he be placed among the righteous," said a social media user.
