50 per cent discount on traffic summons on Saturday – Selangor police
SHAH ALAM - In conjunction with the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP) Selangor Merdeka Ride and Carnival 2023, Selangor Police announces a 50 per cent discount for stipulated traffic summons paid during the festival.
The discount was valid for all types of fines except for offences related to accidents, non-compoundable offences (NC), Op Selamat fines, and court summons.
The announcement, which was made on the Selangor Police's Facebook page, also stated that the discount was not applicable to fines related to lorries or heavy vehicles, dangerous overtaking, cutting queues, using emergency lanes, cutting across double lines, and modifying exhaust systems.
The Merdeka Ride and Carnival 2023 will take place at the Shah Alam Stadium carnival site on Saturday (Aug 26) starting from 7am to 7pm.
"All Selangorians and Malaysians are invited to attend this historic and vibrant event," the posting said.
It said that the main highlights of the carnival were the Merdeka Cycle with national athlete Anuar Manan and a lucky draw offering spectacular prizes.
"Among other activities what would be held are a petting zoo, fun fair, classical car and motorcycle exhibition, and a magic show.
"There will also be performances by guest artists including Datuk Awie, Hazama, Saiful Apek, Yassin Senario, Baggio Damasutra, Pablo Amirul, and Arteh," the posting said.
