KEPALA BATAS — The Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP) has been requested to cancel the approval of the organisation of the 2023 Viral Malaysian Indonesian TikTok Songs Concert, which is said to be organised at the Millenium Hall on September 30.

The request was made by the Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Mohammad Abdul Hamid, who said that the state government is aware of the public's concern regarding the organization of the concert.

"The concert received objections from local residents who were considered to not take into account the sensitivity of Muslims, especially since it will be held two days after Muslims' Maulidur Rasul celebration," he said when contacted by Sinar today.

"Local residents have also submitted their official objection to the MBSP mayor," he added.

Hamid, who is also the Islamic Religious Development exco, hoped that the concert would be cancelled, but it was understood that the organisers have requested to move the location of the concert to the Batu Kawan area with additional conditions.
