Zii Jia, ranked 13th in the world, won straight sets 21-11, 21-16 in 33 minutes in the contest at the Royal Arena.
Waiting for Zii Jia in the third round is the 12th seed from Denmark, Anders Antonsen who overcame another national men's singles player, Ng Tze Yong 22-24, 16-21.
"So far, I have enjoyed the tournament here and I hope to maintain this momentum," Zii Jia told the Badminton World Federation (BWF) after the match.
In the meantime, Tze Yong's journey in Copenhagen stagnated after conceding defeat to Antonsen.
Tze Yong, who was making his second appearance at the prestigious tournament, learned a valuable lesson when the experience separated him from home player Antonsen.
The 23-year-old Johor-born player lost 22-24, 16-21 in the second round action early Thursday morning.
