KOTA BHARU - Tok Kenali's granchild, Muhammad Hafiz Hukmi Wardi has explained the video recording that shows a group of men engaged in group recitation (zikir) using methods beyond the usual and not in line with the teachings of the renowned scholar.

He said this matter is also unrelated to Pondok Tok Kenali or the Kelantan state government.

"I was informed by the person who recorded the video that he doesn't know where the group came from. If you look at the van... apparently, the van has a registration plate from Thailand... so only God knows where it came from.

"The grave of Tok Kenali is always open to anyone... 24/7.

"Even in the middle of the night, there are those who come. So the practices shown in the video have nothing to do with the teachings of Tok Kenali, with Pondok Tok Kenali, or with the state government," he said in an explanatory video message uploaded on TikTok yesterday.

According to him, as a representative of Tok Kenali's family, he advises the public who wish to visit the grave of the famous scholar to observe proper manners and etiquette while in the area.

He mentioned that this etiquette aligns with what is taught by the scholarly figures, stressing politeness and avoiding excessive behavior.

"Because this can lead to slander in our society now. So if possible, especially to women, I request that you not enter the fenced area.
