'Don't need to sensationalise the issue, our daughter is fine'
ALOR SETAR - The family of the student who had gone viral after Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor had tapped her head with a paper has asked the public to not sensationalise the issue.
Referring to the incident, TikTok user MCSyalwa who is reportedly the mother of the student said the family had no issues with Sanusi.
“Enough of these. Let’s live peacefully. Why sensationalise this matter.
“We as parents and our children have no issues at all. The MB was nice, took care of us despite being tired cycling,” she said in a TikTok post on Tuesday.
She commented on the video of Sinar's TikTok and said the Kedah Menteri Besar didn’t have to apologise to their family.
She said they have no issues with Sanusi and that their daughter was fine about it as well.
“It didn’t hurt, nothing broke. We were joking around. Why make that into an issue,” she said.
The viral 18-second video showed the Jeneri Assemblyman was joking roughly with a woman by slapping her head using a paper, the recording gained attention from netizens.
Muda deputy president Amira Aisya Abd Aziz was reported as saying that the Kedah Menteri Besar’s action of hitting the woman in the head with a rolled piece of paper was rude.
However, Sanusi defended his actions of hitting the young woman with a piece of paper on Saturday.
Sanusi said the incident was simplya joke and it was to reprimand the student for being late for applying for aid.
