PUTRAJAYA - A total of 80 children below 18 years old who are at the Immigration Detention Depot will be transferred to care premises in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan in the near future.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the pilot project was in its final stages.

"What is left now are logistical aspects such as sleeping mats, water and electricity supply and some other aspects of improvement," he said at a press conference after the ministry’s monthly assembly here on Tuesday.

Saifuddin said the children comprised residents of Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Depot, Semenyih and KLIA.

"If they have guardians, these children will be released together with their guardians," he said.
