TikToker criticised for staying in PPR but living a T20 lifestyle
SHAH ALAM - A TikToker known as Syamimia was criticised by a several netizens for living in a flat but owning luxury brand furniture and electronics.
Over the past few days, there has been a dispute among social media users who questioned Syamimia's standard of living seen as unsuitable for living in a People Housing Programme (PPR) house.
Syamimia finally revealed that the house was a legacy of her late mother before she died.
"That's right, I stopped studying after Ummi (Mom) died. Ummi passed away just a few months after buying this house.
“I looked for a job to pay all of Ummi's debts including the house payment at the age of 20, I am all alone in Kuala Lumpur.
"I keep this story to myself because I am a very secretive person and I don't even want to explain it to strangers.
"The amount is very large but before owning this house, I was 'interviewed' by a judge to prove that a 20-year-old and can manage this house.
"The outstanding electricity and water bill were thousands of ringgit overdue, (because Ummi did not work for months), the balance of the home loan is very large (90 percent of the balance)," she shared via TikTok.
On the same post, Syamimia also expressed her gratitude for successfully paying off the outstanding balance and intended to gift the house to her beloved sister, Syarina.
"Thank God I was able to complete the payment at a young age and this house was given to me because I was able to pay off the balance.
“This is one of my dream ways to make Ummi happy because she also likes beautiful houses.
"I used to joke before, remember? If I have a new house, I will gift this house and all its furniture to my sweetheart, Syarina.
"Now my vision is to buy happiness for my sister, husband, brother-in-law and children," she said.
Previously, Syamimia's life history, raised by a single mother with a disability who was visually impaired or blind, had attracted a lot of attention.
