LABUAN - Two men who were reported missing while fishing in Kiamsam Beach on Sunday morning were found drowned on yesterday.

The bodies of Yasin Johnar, 20, and his nephew, Mohammad Shah Nadzmin, 19, were found floating in the sea at 5.28pm and 5.33pm respectively.

Labuan district police chief Superintendent Mohd Hamizi Halim said that the two men had gone out fishing at around 6am on Sunday.

"A search and rescue operation was launched after they were reported missing at 9.50am on Monday.

"Their bodies were finally found around the beach at around 5.30pm," he said in a statement yesterday.

The bodies of the two victims were sent to Labuan Nucleus Hospital's Forensic Unit for post-mortem.

The case is currently being investigated under the sudden death report.

The search and rescue operation involved teams from the Fire and Rescue Department, the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency and the public.
