SHAH ALAM - Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) deputy president Amira Aisya Abd Aziz has slammed Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor's act of hitting a woman's head with a rolled paper as impolite.

Amira said that Sanusi, as a high-ranking leader, should maintain good manners even when pulling a joke with the people.

"He should not normalise everything as a joke," she said in a statement today.

Recently, an 18-second video showing the Jeneri assemblyman jokingly hitting a woman's head with a piece of paper had caught the internet's attention.

The incident also gained laughter from netizens who perceived it as a joke.

Amira argued that Sanusi needs to show respect towards the people who had voted and chosen him as they would emulate their leader.

"When a big leader does something, his followers will do the same. He should show some respect," she said.
