Three retained, seven new faces join Selangor exco

KLANG - A total of 10 Selangor assemblymen were sworn in as members of the Selangor Executive Council (exco) today.

The ceremony was held in front of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah at Istana Alam Shah Klang at 2pm.

The ceremony was also witnessed by Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, Selangor Crown Prince Tengku Amir Shah, Selangor Mufti Datuk Anhar Opir and state dignitaries.

The new Exco members are: Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah (Seri Setia) from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Najwan Halimi (Kota Anggerik) from PKR, Borhan Aman Shah (Tanjung Sepat) from PKR, Ng Sze Han (Kinrara) from DAP, Ng Suee Lim (Sekinchan) from DAP, Jamaliah Jamaluddin (Bandar Utama) from DAP, Papparaidu Veraman (Banting) from DAP, Izham Hashim (Pandan Indah) from Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), Anfaal Saari (Taman Templer) from Amanah and Rizam Ismail (Sungai Air Tawar) from Barisan Nasional (BN)

The Selangor government retained Sze Han, Borhan and Izham, while the other seven are new faces.

Earlier, Sungai Tua assemblyman Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari was appointed for the second term as Menteri Besar and pronounced his pledge which included ten matters he must fulfil and obey over his tenure.

Among them are to protect and ensure that Islam and other religions are respected, the royal institution of the king is protected and that the Majesty's order is obeyed.

Apart from that, Amirudin also vowed to preserve the special position of the Malays as well as the legitimate interests of other races, perform his duty with utmost integrity and responsibility, put the people first, ensure the prosperity of the state at the highest level, preserve the entrusted position from being tainted by illegal actions and preserve unity.

After the ceremony, Amirudin told reporters that the exco portfolios will be announced after the end of the first Selangor Exco Meeting this Wednesday.
