Firemen battle 13 hour fire at six mattress factory in Sg Buloh
SUNGAI BULOH - Fire and Rescue personnel spent about 13 hours extinguishing a fire that destroyed six mattress manufacturing factories in Kampung Baru, here.
The Director of the Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Wan Md Razali Wan Ismail said the fire which started about 4pm yesterday was successfully put off at 6am today.
He said a team of firefighters with 12 fire engines from the Sungai Buloh Fire and Rescue Station, Selayang Fire and Rescue Station, Damansara Fire and Rescue Station, Rawang Fire and Rescue Station, Section 7 Fire and Rescue Station, Puchong Fire and Rescue Station and Taman Tun Dr Ismail Fire and Rescue Station from Kuala Lumpur were rushed to the scene.
"The fire did not involve any casualties and was brought under control by 6.05am," he said in a statement today.
Earlier, media reported that six furniture manufacturing factories in Kampung Baru Sungai Buloh were destroyed in a fire yesterday.
The fire also prroduced thick black smoke that was clearly visible in the affected area.
