'Ismail Sabri fails to differentiate between idealism and method' - Puad Zarkashi

SHAH ALAM - Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi claims that former prime minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has failed to distinguish between idealism and method.
The statement was in response to the former Umno vice president's claim that one of the reasons for Umno's rejection by Malay voters is that the party has moved away from its idealism and original identity.
Mohd Puad also said that the Bera Umno chief also made the mistake of not changing their idealism but remained fighting for Islam and Malay.
"Even Umno amends the Constitution Party, where Islam is at the top.
"What changes is the method of fighting. 'Uslub' can change according to current requirements. Umno does not change its base.
"Joining the Unity Government, which includes DAP, has nothing to do with idealism. It's a method.
"As time passes, so does the political way," he stated in a statement on Sunday.
On Saturday, Ismail Sabri stated that one of the evidences is that voters believe Umno has strayed from its ideals and fundamental identity by destroying Muafakat Nasional, which had become a hope for Malays seeking unity.
He said it was worse when the party's top leadership dragged Umno to be with DAP and even urged its members to work and vote for the party in the election.
