Jing Xuen, Malcolm to appear in Sea Amateur Golf Team Championships
KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian golfing enthusiasts can brace themselves for an exhilarating showdown as young national golfers Ng Jing Xuen and Malcolm Ting Siong Hung appear in the Sea Amateur Golf Team Championship held at the Mines Resort Golf Club from tomorrow till Aug 24.
Malaysian Golf Association (MGA) in a statement today said the formidable players and teams are set to contend for the four iconic events namely the 60th Putra Cup, 14th Lion City Cup, 12th City Cup, and 8th Kartini Cup.
"Leading the charge for Malaysia are two of the country’s most decorated players, Malcolm Ting, the Sea Games 2023 silver medallist (men) and accompanying him is the formidable Ng Jing Xuen, who clinched the gold at the Sea Games 2023, further solidifying Malaysia's robust presence in this year's competition.
"The other Putra Cup players are Anson Yeo, Nateeshvar Ganesh and Zia Iqmal while the Lion City Cup will showcase young talents Andrew Yap, Muhamad Ajmal Amin Mohd Fajri, and Muhammad Adif Haikal Md Hazan,” the statement read.
Representing the Santi Cup besides Jing Xuen are Wang Xin Yao and Charlayne Chong Shin Lin while the Kartini Cup team boasts Nur Batrisyia Balqis Abdul Ghani, Ngo Yi Belle and Siti Nur Husna Aina Abd Karim Nast.
MGA president Tan Sri Mohd Anwar Mohd said the array of talent that will be making an appearance this year is truly astounding.
"It's a blend of seasoned professionals and rising stars, which makes the championship an unpredictable and thrilling spectacle," he said. - BERNAMA
