IPOH - Two men died while one was critically injured after the Proton Waja vehicle they were in crashed into an electricity pole in front of a factory in Kuala Kangsar Road, here on Sunday.

​The Perak Malaysia Fire and Rescue Services Department (JBPM) director Sayani Saidon said she received the call on the incident at 2.17am before firemen rushed to the scene from the Ipoh Fire Department.

She said all three men aged in their 30s were found stuck in the vehicle following the accident.

“As they arrived on scene, a vehicle was seen crashed into an electricity pole. Firemen used their tools to remove the victims from the wreckage

“Operations chief reported two victims were confirmed dead at the scene by Health Ministry personnel.

“Meanwhile another man was critically injured and sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital by an ambulance,” she said.

The operation was led by Senior Fire Officer II Mohamad Mahir Mat Saad and it was concluded at 4.30am. - AWANI
