Elmina crash: Autopsy process for all victims completed – Police

SHAH ALAM - The autopsy process for all 10 victims involved in the tragic crash in the Guthrie Expressway near Elmina, Seksyen U16, Shah Alam have been completed.

Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said however, DNA sample matching was still being conducted.

“The autopsy of the victims was done by 30 personnel from the pathology team and it was completed yesterday (Friday).

“However, the DNA matching tests involving 300 body parts were still underway and the process is now at 30 per cent completion.

“The matching sequence was done from the Chemical Department and Insya-Allah we hope for all to be done by Monday,” he said in a press conference at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) Forensic Department grounds here on Saturday.

He said the process of identifying the bodies was done according to fingerprint and dental records.

“Eight of the fingerprints of victims were identified through the process, we expect the bodies will be identified today and were expected to be released to the heirs tomorrow (Sunday),” he said.

He said the heirs were asked to wait patiently while the processes were done as it would take time.

“The heirs were asked to remain patient as the DNA matching process was complicated and what is important is to identify the body parts to ensure it was completed thoroughly.

“We hope the heirs accept the conditions of the body when it is released to them,” he said.

On Thursday, 10 victims were pronounced dead in the tragic private jet incident.

The victims consisted of eight aircraft passengers and crews while two others were road users consisting of a motorist and a motorcyclist at the scene.
