Elmina crash: Hafiz's body released to family, to be buried in Sungai Petani
MUHAMMAD AMINURALIF MOHD ZOKIKLANG - The body of p-hailing rider Muhammad Hafiz Mohd Saleh, 32, who was one of the 10 victims of the tragic aircraft crash at the Guthrie Highway near Elmina, Seksyen U16, Shah Alam would be buried at Al-Huda Mosque, Kampung Jerung Sungai Petani, Kedah, today.
His father, Muhammad Saleh Othman, 51, said the body of his eldest son would be managed by the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais).
“The body would be bathed and covered by Jais and the prayer would be held in Ar-Rahimiah Mosque, Klang before he transported to Al Huda Mosque cemetery, Kampung Jerung, Sungai Petani.
“Insya-Allah, the body would be buried today. I would like to thank the parties involved in managing the body,” he said when met at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) Forensic Department grounds here on Saturday.
Earlier, the victims’ family arrived at the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital to claim the victim’s body.
Hafiz’s body would be the first to be released to the family among other victims.
On Thursday, an aircraft from Langkawi en route to Subang crashed in Elmina Central Park, Seksyen U16, Shah Alam.
Police had confirmed 10 individuals – eight onboard and two in the vicinity – was killed in the crash.
