Plane makes emergency landing, female trainee rushed to hospital

BATU BERENDAM - A light aircraft in a flight training lost control and made an emergency landing at Melaka International Airport (LTAM) in Batu Berendam on Friday afternoon.

At about 12.16pm, the plane owned by International Aero Training Academy Sdn Bhd (IATAC) was operated by a 23-year-old female trainee pilot.

Melaka Tengah district police chief Assistant Commissioner Christopher Patit said that however, the trainee only suffered chest pain due to the impact and was taken to Melaka Hospital.

"At approximately 12.42pm, the police was informated regarding an IATAC aircraft that had lost control on runway RWY 21.

"The plane was later successfully removed from the scene at 12.50pm and the pilot was reported to have been taken by ambulance to Melaka Hospital," he said in a statement here.
