Elmina plane crash: One of the components of the black box found

SHAH ALAM - The cockpit voice recording (CVR) of the plane that crashed near in Elmina, has been found here at 10.20pm.

The device is one of the components of the black box of the plane.

The matter was confirmed by the Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan during a press conference at the location a while ago.

The investigation team at the accident site has successfully found the CVR, which is the cockpit voice recording of the aircraft in question.

"The CVR has been sent to the laboratory for further investigation.

"The CVR is a part of the black box. The aircraft's black box is divided into two parts: Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVR) and Flight Data Recorders (FDR)," he said during the press conference in Elmina on Thursday.

A total of ten victims have been confirmed to have perished in the private jet aircraft accident.

The victims comprised of eight passengers and the aircraft's crew, as well as two civilians, namely a motorcycle rider and a car driver who happened to be at the accident site.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) confirmed that no distress calls or 'Mayday' signals were received.

The aircraft took off from Langkawi International Airport at 2.08pm and was given clearance to land at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, but it crashed two minutes before landing.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke reportedly said that based on initial observations, the aircraft was found to have veered to the right of the landing path.
