No signals of aircraft facing issues - Police

SHAH ALAM - The Control Tower at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAAS) does not receive any notification that the light private aircraft, a Beechcraft 390 (Premier 1), was facing issues before it was detected to have crashed in Elmina, Section U16, near here on Thursday.

Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the aircraft had been granted permission to land at 2.40pm.

"However, the communication between the aircraft and the control tower was reported to have been lost before it was detected to have crashed in Elmina, near the exit to Guthrie Highway.

"The aircraft was confirmed to have crashed two minutes before landing at around 2.38pm," he said during a press conference at the scene.

He added that the relevant authorities are conducting an ongoing detailed investigation concerning the matter.

"What I can confirm is that no distress calls were made," he said.
