IPOH - The recent state elections results in six states have no substantial impact on the stability of the Perak government led by Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH).

State Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad said the results also maintained a previous victory in which Pas defended Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu, while BN-PH continued to lead Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan.

He said the decision had no impact on the stability of either Perak nor the federal government because the establishment of the government involved multiple entities.

“The formation of the Perak government is made up of the State Legislative Assembly members in the state, so it has nothing to do with Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu, Penang, Selangor and Negeri Sembilan.

“I want to reassure you that the stability and strength of the state's unity government are guaranteed. There have been no reports of party-hopping, and I would like to inform businesses considering in investing in Perak that the state is stable,” Saarani added.

He said this at the seventh series of the Perak Meet the Customer Day at the Indera Mulia stadium here, today.

Saarani said he met with all BN assemblymen who have expressed their support for the current government and that a meeting with all government assemblymen will be held tomorrow (Thursday) to demonstrate that the state government was stable.

Meanwhile, Saarani cautioned Perak opposition leader Razman Zakaria to refrain from making irresponsible statements that could harm investors’ confidence in Perak.

He said the opposition should accept the results of the last state elections and support the BN-PH state government to lead the administration and development of the state.

"If the opposition leader (Razman) and the other oppositions love Perak, they must concur that we have four more years to rule.

“Give us the opportunity to rule and if they win the next election, go form the government.

"For the next four years, if he truly loves this state, loves the people and does not want to burden the people, please stop (with the negative statements),” he added.

Razman had in a statement on Aug 14 said that Perak Pas was ready to work with Umno to realise the dominance of the Malay-Muslim unity in the state following the results of the six state elections recently.
