Man believed to have stabbed girlfriend arrested
AMPANG - Police have arrested a man believed to have stabbed his girlfriend in an incident at the parking area of a condominium in Bukit Antarabangsa here on Aug 6.
Ampang Jaya District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Azam Ismail, stated that the 41-year-old suspect, who is a local resident, was apprehended in the compound of Sultan Iskandar Mosque, Bandar Dato Onn, Johor Bahru, on Tuesday.
"Checks revealed that the suspect has two previous criminal records and is currently remanded for four days for further investigation," he said.
Previously, Sinar Harian reported that a local woman was believed to have been stabbed by the suspect in the parking area of a condominium.
The suspect also allegedly slashed the tyres and shattered the front windscreen of the victim's car while she was inside.
Mohd Azam stated that investigations found that the suspect acted in such a manner because the victim wanted to end the romantic relationship.
He mentioned that further investigations regarding the incident are still ongoing and that the case is being investigated under Section 324 of the Penal Code.
