PH forms PN manifesto implementation monitoring committee in Terengganu

KUALA TERENGGANU - Pakatan Harapan (PH) is set to establish a special committee to monitor the implementation of manifesto promises by the Perikatan Nasional (PN) government in Terengganu.

Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Youth Wing chief, Mohd Hasbie Muda, stated that the committee, to be formed in the near future will involve representatives from PH component parties.

"Even though the State Legislative Assembly of Terengganu will convene without the presence of an opposition bloc, we will carry out our oversight and balance he function of the state government through this committee.

"We are ready to monitor and observe the process of implementing Pas' manifesto promises in Terengganu," he said when contacted today.

Terengganu's Pas offered 10 manifesto promises if they continue to receive a mandate from the people in the recent state elections held on Aug12.

Some of the manifesto promises included providing interest-free motorcycle purchase loans of up to RM4,000, offering a death grant of RM500, establishing a RM5 million Youth Entrepreneur Grant Fund and constructing a dual carriageway (coastal road) from Kemaman to Besut.

Pas had also pledged to sponsor contributions to the Social Security Scheme for Housewives through Perkeso,create an Agricultural, Livestock, and Fisheries Aid Fund amounting to RM10 million plus establish a Tafaqquh Fiddin Center in each district,

In addition, the manifesto focused on making Terengganu a leading food-producing state with an allocation of RM100 million, increase job opportunities through business development incentives for traders to open branches in Terengganu and build a 'Township Mosque' as a mosque complete with economic, sports, recreational, educational, social, community, health, and welfare facilities.

The Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition in Terengganu, comprising 27 Pas candidates and five candidates from Bersatu secured all 32 State Legislative Assembly seats with a significantly larger majority compared to the 14th General Election (PRU14).

Furthermore, Pas successfully retained its victory in the Kuala Terengganu Parliamentary By-election through its candidate, Datuk Ahmad Amzad Hashim.
