SHAH ALAM - There is an element of unprofessionalism within the enforcement and prosecution officers in addition to unreasonable negligence in government agencies.

Bersatu Information Chief Datuk Razali Idris claimed there were also elements of biassed and hasty accusations as well as specific instructions from the unity government's higher-ups.

He said it was proven when the Kuala Lumpur High Court decided to release Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on four charges of misuse of power as the eighth prime minister for corruption amounting to RM232.5 million.

"The court's judgement explained that there was an accusation of an offence that was not provided in accordance with the law, and the offence presented did not contain the details of how it was committed.

"Bersatu expressed its concern over the prosecution system and the implementation of the national legislation through the responsible government agencies such as the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the police, which would lead to a miscarriage of justice," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

He said the party expressed their confidence that Muhyiddin would be freed from other accusations.

Razali said it involved several senior Bersatu and Perikatan Nasional (PN) leaders on the basis of the judgement leading to a 'miscarriage of justice'.

"Bersatu respects the Constitutional Monarchy Parliamentary Democracy system, which showed, among other things, that courts would adhere to the principles of independence, justice, equality, and the supremacy of the law.
