Time for politics has concluded - Loke
SEREMBAN - DAp secretary general, Anthony Loke Siew Fook, urged all parties to focus on work and on serving the people as the state election has already concluded.
According to him, the time for politics has passed, and the decree by the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, that all leaders prioritise the interests of the people should be embraced by everyone.
"Tuanku's decree yesterday (Monday) was very firm and clear that Tuanku does not want to see a repeat of what happened in the previous term, where there was an attempt to change the state government after the Sheraton Move.
"For me, it's a good reminder for all parties that we must collectively be responsible for bringing political stability to the country and the state," he said at a press conference after announcing the 'myBAS Concession' free pass initiative at Terminal One here today.
He added that Negeri Sembilan already has a strong and stable government under PH and Barisan Nasional (BN), with a comfortable majority win.
In fact, he stated that the coalition's victory in 31 out of 36 State Assembly seats demonstrates that this coalition is accepted by the people.
"With this strength we can bring political stability to our country. When Tuanku decided to appoint Aminuddin (Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun) as the Menteri Besar, all state assembly members should provide full support.
Meanwhile, when asked about DAP's transparency regarding the appointment of members to the Executive Council (Exco), Anthony expressed confidence in the Menteri Besar's wisdom to make a fair and satisfactory decisions for all parties.
"The allocation ratio has not been determined yet and there will be closed discussions with each respective party to be done soon with the Menteri Besar.
"Therefore, I believe that the Menteri Besar will give his decision on this matter well because he already has five years of experience (as Menteri Besar)," he said.
