Police collaborate with MACC on red notice application for Muhyiddin's son-in-law case
KUALA LUMPUR - The police have responded to a verbal application from the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) regarding the issuance of a red notice for the case involving the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain has confirmed the police's willingness to collaborate with the MACC to provide the requested assistance in the case.
"We will proceed based on the information provided and the verbal red notice application we have received," he said during a press conference held at the Bukit Aman headquarters here today.
It was reported that the Home Ministry is reviewing all forms of assistance required by the MACC concerning Muhyiddin's son-in-law. Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution expressed his openness to cooperating with various agencies to facilitate the ongoing investigation.
It was also reported that the MACC is seeking cooperation from the Immigration Department to freeze the passport of Muhammad Adlan, who is the son-in-law of Muhyiddin, along with another individual, in relation to corruption and embezzlement linked to projects involving the registration, recruitment, and biometric storage of foreign workers in a ministry.
However, Adlan, through his lawyer Datuk Baljit Singh Sidhu, issued a statement denying any intention to evade authorities and stressed his commitment to return home to assist in the investigations.
MACC released a statement on Monday indicating that it is actively pursuing two individuals to aid the investigation into corruption and embezzlement tied to projects related to the registration, recruitment, and biometric storage of foreign workers in a ministry.
The two individuals identified are Muhammad Adlan Berhan, 48, with his last known address at Lot 65, Sunway Kiara Hills, Jalan 32/70A Desa Sri Hartamas, Kuala Lumpur, and Mansoor Saat, 69, with an address at 5 Jalan SS19/1C, Subang Jaya, Selangor.
