Syahir proposes a debate on education issues between Fadhlina and Haim Hilman

SHAH ALAM - After debating with the Economy Minister, Rafizi Ramli in discussing the direction of the economy, Pas deputy secretary-general , Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman has suggested that the debate stage to continue to discuss national issues.

The Bachok Member of Parliament said that the debate should not end and only be based on politics and elections, but debates could be done on ideas and policies between politicians in the government and the opposition bloc.

"I suggest that this debate continues with a second installation. I suggest a debate about education where this issue is close to the people.

"For the second series of debates, I suggest Education Minister Fadhlina Siddiq debate with Jitra State Assembly Member, Professor Dr Haim Hilman Abdullah in discussing the direction of the national education policy," he said when contacted on Monday.

According to him, the issue is interesting to discuss because most young parents and teachers want to know the direction of the education policy under Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's administration.

He said that the debate stage was the best platform for Fadhlina to present all the ideas, visions and mission to uphold the quality of education in the country.

"I think there is nothing to be afraid of because this is what Rafizi emphasised to not be afraid and prove that they have ideas and formulas to solve problems.

"This issue of education is very close to the hearts of the people. So I hope that the Education Minister will respond to this challenge with an open heart," he said.

However, for the second series of debates, Mohd Syahir suggested that the education debate stage be organised by Sinar.

"I'm sure many parties are willing to be the organisers and I suggest that this debate be organised by Sinar Harian. It will certainly bring a new approach to the national debate stage," he said.
