Six Bangsar restaurants slapped with closure for violating licence conditions
MOHD AZLIM ZAINURYKUALA LUMPUR - Six restaurants and eateries in Jalan Talawi 5, Bangsar, here faced immediate closure and confiscation after found to have violated their licensing conditions on Saturday night.
The raid was carried out by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) Business Licensing and Development Department together with its enforcement department.
Preliminary reports show the outlets had indulged in entertainment activities without a license, causing public disturbance.
"Immediate seizure of the premises was imposed under the Entertainment Act (WPKL) 1992, Section 17: Authority to close premises," DBKL wrote on Facebook.
During the operations, 17 compounds were also issued with six violations under the Entertainment Act (WPKL) 1992, Section 4 (1) (a): Holding entertainment activities without license and six compounds were issued under the Entertainment Act (WPKL) 1992, Section 4 (1) (b) ): Opening premises for entertainment activities without licence from DBKL.
"Apart from that, one compound was issued under the Food Settlement By-Law (WPKL) 2016: Article 22 (1) (b): Employing foreign workers without valid permit and three compounds under Article 18(1) of the Food Settlement By-Law ( WPKL) 2016 - No other business activities can be carried out other than those licenced," he said.
The statement added that another compound was issued under Article 20 (1) (e) Trade, Business and Industrial Licencing By-Law (WPKL) 2016: No licencee may carry out other activities in his business premises other than the business activities specified in the licence.
DBKL also advises premise owners or licence holders to comply stipulated licence.
"Any violations will be strictly and consistently followed by DBKL," it said.
