SEREMBAN - Umno Negeri Sembilan Chairman Datuk Seri Jalaluddin Alias is leaving the decision on the appointment of the state Menteri Besar post to the party leadership.

He said the matter will be discussed with the top guns of both the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) soon.

"It's not my decision and authority (to select the Mnteri Besar). We leave it to the party leadership.

"I have not met Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun yet, but I will meet him after meeting with the BN representatives for further arrangements.

"Many possibilities could arise, but I leave everything to the president and party leader to make the decision. I will follow the president's instructions," he said when met at Wisma Umno Negeri Sembilan on Saturday.

Jalaluddin, who was the former Pertang state seat candidate, was announced victorious by defeating the Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate, Amirudin Hassan, in Saturday's polls.

The state elections saw all the top leaders of both Negeri Sembilan PH and BN also winning the contested seats.

Earlier, the media reported that former Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar deemed it inappropriate if Aminuddin, also the state PH Chairman, is reappointed to the position if BN wins more seats than PH.

BN won in 14 out of the 17 contested seats in the state polls.
